15th International Handbell Symposium, Liverpool 2012

As you will be aware from ‘Reverberations’ and the HRGB website, HRGB is hosting the International Symposium in Liverpool next summer.  The International Symposium is held every two years in a variety of locations round the world.  The last time it was in the UK was 2000, the next time is likely to be 2026!

The main part of the Symposium consists of taking part in Massed ringing, led by conductors from countries which are part of the international handbell community.  Sometimes complete teams take part, but also groups of interested ringers can get together for rehearsals to familiarise themselves with the music before the Symposium and then ring together at the event.  In the past few years Roger and I have joined with an East Anglian team to do this for the events in Japan and Florida.

I wondered if there are people in the North East or surrounding regions who are considering going to the Symposium and would like to get together to form a group to ring in the massed ringing in Liverpool.  If there is enough interest, we will arrange a suitable venue and dates for rehearsals.
