e-News - Regional Rallies
During the rally we were pleased to announce that Rosalind Rogerson and Vic Cox had been nominated as the region’s first Honoured Members. They have been presented with a commemorative glass award engraved with the regional logo and a special honoured members regional badge. (Click on a name for full Citation and pictures).
Nominations for honoured members may be made at any time. Details were given in the first eNEws or contact Joan for a copy. Awards will be made annually at the spring rally. We look forward to receiving further nominations from you.
The region has had 2 successful rallies so far this year – a mini rally in Ganton
in April and our annual spring rally, once again in Grassington, in May. The Ganton
rally was ably hosted by Filey Parish Church Handbell Ringers and was well attended.
We were pleased to see ringers from Selby Abbey once again.

The Grassington rally attracted fewer ringers than usual but made for a more informal
day with 3 massed ringing pieces which were ably conducted by our volunteer guest
conductor Kathy Smith.
The autumn rally will take place at Far Headingly, Leeds hosted by Treble Eight Ringers.

At the AGM, which was held during the rally, it was reported that Helen Foley no
longer wished to stand for re-election. Helen has been a stalwart supporter of the
region for some time and was instrumental in the founding of the Northern Bell Orchestra.
However, Helen, has indicated that she would like to return to the committee when
current pressures of work ease. In her place, Louise Jordan (Beverley Town Handbell
Ringers) was proposed and duly elected.
