2010 sees the North East Region of HRGB visiting Grassington for the 23rd consecutive year.  Throughout this period the rallies here have been organised by the members of the Regional Committee. However, there is an element of every rally that requires a particular skill and dedication in order to ensure that the membership have a particularly enjoyable day – the provision of meals and refreshments.

For 23 years the catering at Grassington has been undertaken by members of the Grassington Methodist Church but one person, Judith Ariss, has been the guiding light throughout.

Last year Judith indicated that she wished to retire from the role of “Catering Manager” a decision the Committee fully understood bearing in mind the length of service given in support of the Grassington Rallies.  

The Committee felt that it was appropriate that Judith should be made an Honoured Member in recognition of this service.

The Officers and Committee are delighted to grant Judith Honoured Membership of the North East Region and take this opportunity to thank her for the support and friendship she has given to both Officers, Committee members and ringers for so many years.

The Award was presented to Beth Vowles on Judith’s behalf as Judith was not able to attend the rally.
